Entering Belize

Entering Belize

Belize welcomes visitors from around the world, but entry and visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and many Caribbean and Central American countries generally do not need a visa for a short tourist visit. Some other nationalities do require a visa or may qualify for an exemption under specific conditions, so travelers should check Belize’s official immigration requirements before booking.

For most visitors, you should have:

  • A valid passport
  • A return or onward ticket
  • Evidence that you can support yourself during your stay
  • Any visa required for your nationality
  • Your accommodation information and travel plans available if requested

Belize’s tourism information currently states that passports generally need to be valid for at least 30 days after arrival, although travelers transiting onward to a country requiring six months’ passport validity should follow those stricter requirements.

Visitors are generally admitted for one month, with extensions available through Belize Immigration for travelers who want to stay longer. You will need to go to closet Immigration office and pay usd$100 or $bze$200
